Loft Beds

A loft bed can be termed as a bed on stilts, because it is raised off the floor a few feet. The area beneath can be used as storage space, a closet, a desk or anything else you can think of. Loft beds are commonly found in dormitories and in childrens bedrooms.

A loft bed is usually made of wood and is quite easy to build. However, most loft beds are manufactured and have features like seats that can be transformed into a bed when needed. (These are sometimes known as futons, depending on the design.) Others have closets, drawers, desks or a space to store toys. You can purchase a loft bed without these features and add your own personal touch.

Some loft beds come with tents that make up for the perfect play area. These beds have slides and windows with curtains creating a magical play area for your child. There are beds that come in black to match any decor. They have a bed above and a bookshelf and a desk below. This bed is best suited for small and confined spaces, such as dorm rooms or home offices that also act as guest bedrooms. The bed therefore becomes a combination of fun and functionality.

Loft beds are available in different styles both traditional and contemporary. They are available in wood or metal. If you have a small bedroom or studio, you can save space by adding a loft bed. They are truly designed with space saving in mind.
