Emotional Eating and Dieting - New Information Improves Success Dramatically

 

A new procedure similar to accupressure could be the key to permanent weight loss.

A new procedure called Emotional freedom technique or EFT is similar to accupressure, but you do not use needles. Instead you tap on certain areas of the body that send signals to your brain to relax, these areas are called meridian points. It is believed that this technique has promise to completely change that way we feel about food. In one study cravings were reduced by 80%, this is an amazing reduction for such a simple program.

Emotional eating is often triggered by fear, anger, and boredom. Conventional therapies for weight loss do deal directly with the issue of emotions, but most of us can attest to the fact that emotional cravings is partly to blame for our weight gain or loss. Dr. Phil Mcgraw also touches on the fact that we must gain control of our emotions before we can have sustainable weight loss.

Dieter's use this program to alleviate feelings of anxiety and depression. This will in turn help to alleviate the need to try a satisfy our feelings by eating. Many practitioner's of EFT have reported wonderful results. Losing weight and keeping it of is definitely easier if you do not have to fight with cravings.
